Retromax Founder

James Ward is the Director of Retromax Engineering. James has many years of experience in the motor racing industry working in the family business, Aussie Racing Cars, Manufacturing and Category Management.

He has been instrumental in designing, building, developing, marketing and selling purpose built race cars. James also competed in the Aussie Racing Car champoinship series for 15 years. Due to the constant tight competition with many of the big name drivers in Australia and battle pack style racing James was able to learn and hone valuable driving skills.

During this period James also worked as a performance driving instructor passing on the passion and knowledge during corporate events at Oran Park Race Circuit in NSW.

James currently works with race teams in the Gore/Bensley Production Car and Aussie racing car team, Miedecke Motorsport  group A, Scott Taylor Motorsport  and select street car restoration, engine conversions and modifications.

James also designs, manufactures and sells quality Australian made parts, specialising in Mercedes W201 190e Cosworth and Evo models.
